He never loved you.
This one is easy to answer.
Do you remember one day, you put a deep smile on someone's face and made them very happy?
He just told you that he loved you, and he led you on. He probably mentioned your future together, and even marriage.
These types of NPD men are a dime a dozen.
When he approached you, he never thought about love, because he did not love you. He only thought about how he could take from you, until you were left a dried-out husk.
